Oh then you’d love german. We give EVERYTHING a gender. We’ve got three articles : Der (male) Die ( female) and Das (neutral) So you’d say “Der Mond” (moon) and “Die Sonne” (sun), but in mythology the moon represents women and the sun men. It’s weird

Is that true? That’s really interesting, do you happen to know why?
I have no idea why the Church uses it, but apparently it’s used for boats because apparently the Romans used to pray to the goddesses before they set sail, and often dedicated to them.
But, this is only a theory

well, apparently, the Catholic Church is referred to as a female in the same way
